Fire News
May 2011 - We now have planning permission for a new RFU compliant clubhouse and changing rooms to be re-sited overlooking the First Team pitch. We have received several tenders to undertake the building programme and these are currently being assessed. There is currently a shortfall in funding and we are actively pursuing avenues which we optimistically believe will be able to make good the difference.
November 2010 - Plans have been drawn up for the new clubhouse. This will have 4 full size RFU compliant changing rooms. Bar, kitchen, storage space etc. There will be a new location - the clubhouse will be brought forwards so that the clubroom will directly overlook the 1st XV pitch. The plans are currently with Walsall MBC awaiting planning approval which we should receive early December if all goes well. We are also about to go out to tender with local builders to so that we can firm up on costs and timescales. Then there will be a scramble to raise any outstanding funding that may be required in the hope that we shall be back up and running by the start of next season.
Aug 2009 - We have been inundated with offers of help to such an extent that we haven't been able to take all of them up.
Our 1st priority was to get everything in place for us to be able to fulfil our fixtures next season and with the help and support of the rugby community it looks like we will be able to achieve that immediate goal.
So far we have received the following:-
£500 worth of training equipment from NBS Rugby www.nbsrugby.co.uk

NBS Kit Being Put to Good Use
2 x playing kits from Moseley RFC

1 x playing kit, tackle bag & balls from Essington RFC.
15 x balls from Ian Bletcher, RFU Coach Development Officer
1 x tackle bag and balls from Lordswood Dixonians
£100 from Shrewsbury RFC
A £5000 loan from North Midlands
We are currently awaiting a delivery of tackle suits, balls & socks from David Tennison the England Kit Manager.
Most importantly we have been able to agree a deal with Veseyans RFC to make use of their playing facilities at the start of the season until we can get temporary changing facilities in place at Bourne Vale.
In addition to the above we have also received offers of equipment
and/or playing/training facilities from all of the following:-
Upton on Severn RFC
Walsall RFC
Sutton RFC
London Welsh RFC
Handsworth RFC
On behalf of Aldridge RFC I would like to express our gratitude
to all those who have called to offer support, equipment or facilities.
Without so many generous offers we would not be in a position to
guarantee that we could start the upcoming season and therefore
the survival of the club.
I would also like to thank Peter Grace, Ross Baxter & Ben Waterhouse of the RFU who took the time to attend our recent committee meeting and give some excellent advice. Their knowledeg and experience will prove invaluable to us and we will continue to call upon their services throughout the re-building process.
Regards
Alex Reed
