Aldridge vs Bloxwich
A sluggish start handed the early initiative to the visitors who didn’t waste much time in turning it into points. A penalty after just 6 minutes from flanker Danny Palmer, gave them the early lead and they continued to dominate to mid-way through the half when a try and conversion, again from Palmer, provided them with a comfortable buffer. We woke up a bit after that and progressively became more involved in the game, which wasn’t moving very far or very fast at this period. The scrum creaked a bit throughout and lacked the firepower and continuity to set up any sort of attacking platforms so scoring opportunities were scarce. A penalty from Alex Yates got 3 points back mid way through the second half which briefly put us in the driving seat, an advantage we should have maximised when the visitors lost a man for a ten minutes sin binning. In fact it was just the opposite. We lost concentration whilst Bloxwich responded strongly and put the game out of reach by crossing twice in a four minute spell with tries from winger James Howdle and scrum half Joshua Kimberley, the latter converted by Palmer.
