Dudley Wasps vs Aldridge
Lots of hustle and bustle and hard work in isolation but lacking the cohesion and support play to enable any sort of sustained pressure to be applied to the opposition try line so, at the end of it, our score board still registered nil points. We had parity in the set pieces and with Tony Kelly, more than a fair share of line out ball but the home side had a stronger running and more creative set of backs who increasingly stretched our defence as the game progressed. Lea Ross in his new role as hooker put himself about well and the new half back pairing of Jason Large and Barry-John Jaep made promising debut appearances. Five tries and two conversions made up Dudley’s tally. Hope to have a bit more to write about after next week’s fixture.
