This game began as a scrappy affair with neither team able to gain the ascendancy. Aldridge's forwards secured some good ball but careless mistakes denied the homes side any prolonged possession. Poor handling and turnovers predominated with the visitors looking as if they might be better placed to secure quality ball.
And so it turned out.
In the second half the visitors played a more expansive and direct game and wore out the Aldridge pack who could not hold out, eventually conceding four tries to opposition going well in the equivalent league above us.
The main plus points of the game for Aldridge were the performances of Daniel Lastun and Darren Gardner. Gardner was playing his first competitive game for the Club and put in some heavy tackles from the back row.
