Aldridge are into the Cup Final

Aldridge went into this semi-final looking to complete their season by getting to the final of the North Mids Vase Plate.
They were definitely up for the game and began strongly and got better as the game went on.
The Aldridge forwards secured good ball on a regular basis for their explosive backs to run in 5 tries against a plucky home side.
After 14 minutes Aldridge worked a good attacking position and the backs created sufficient space for Lewis Underwood to go over for the first try, converted by Alex Yates. 0 - 7
Very shortly afterwards another attacking position left Kaleil Maynard unopposed and he was able to run in the second try, again converted by Alex Yates. 0 -14
Aldridge completed an excellent first half to allow Nick Yates to score a very well worked try, which was again converted by Alex Yates. This left the score at half time 0 - 21.
In the second half the conditions favoured the home side who came back with some determination. Aldridge's defence was just too strong, however, led by the superb Lea Ross. Following a couple of yellow cards, with both sides reduced to 14 men Aldridge again struck with an excellent break from Kaleil Maynard, who looked unstoppable. Again Alex Yates converted and Aldridge began to think that the win was secured at 0 -28. But Wasps came back again looking for a breakthrough. Their downfall was their inability to make much of their good possession and, from a maul close to the home side's line, Adam Baldock scored the final try to leave the final score 0 - 33.
