A much changed Aldridge travelled to Clee Hill for this rearranged game after last weeks snow. With 15 minutes gone and finding ourselves 19-0 down we could have been looking at a Cricket score, but what we do have as a club is pride and to be honest the final scoreline of 37-0 is not a true reflection of the game.

When the chips are down you need leaders to stand up and everyone on the pitch did that, with particular praise to Ben Pittam, Lea Ross, and Josh Reynolds, alongside Skip. Also special shout goes out to Ben Eden who after we lost Ryan Bowan early in the second half - dropped into the centres and put one hit on the big Clee centre that will be long remember KABOOOOOMMMMM

We had our chances (lots of them to be fair) to score but a bit of ill discipline in the first half and a number of last ditch covering tackles in the second meant we failed to capitalise on these. The final 2 tries from Clee Hill were as a result of our errors and were scored in the final 10 minutes.

"We travelled with a very inexperienced side, Ellis was making his first 1xv XV start in the back row and we were able to give Gaz Austin his debut off the bench. Our back 3 (Al, Ben and Adam Morris) caused Clee troubles all day and the normal suspects of Danny Mac and Josh Reynolds ran good hard lines throughout the game - we simply failed to put these phases of play together, and made mistakes at the wrong time.

To me the true reflection of where this club has got to was that for the last 5 minutes we were camped in their 22 trying to score a try - at the start of the year we would of simply played out the clock."
