Aldridge won their second game of the season against Stourport, running in seven tries with some excellent play from their backs.
The game began with Aldridge playing with the conditions and they made good early use. Adam Reed went over from a scrum close to the home side's line for the first try.
Another good move down the left hand side created room for Eddie O'Neill to score a superb try. This was then followed shortly after by a characteristic break from Gareth Bott, who ran deceptively to score a try converted by Alex Yates.
The home side then came back into the game with a try of their own to narrow the score to 5 - 17. The visitors were winning sufficient ball to give their free running backs the opportunity to regularly threaten the Stourport line, and it came as no surprise to see Alex Yates score and convert to extend the score to 5 -24. More was to come in a dominant first half when Nick Yates took his opportunity well and scored a try which extended the lead at half time to 5 - 29.
The second half took on a completely different tone. The home side came back well and used the favourable conditions to score two quick tries to reduce the deficit to 17 - 29. Quite suddenly it began to look like quite a game.
Jolted by these setbacks the visitors then recovered to score two further tries, the first a break from deep which led to Bradley Russell go over for his first league try, and the second a carbon copy break down the right hand side which Jacob Holding scored, converted by Alex Yates.
The bonus point win keeps alive Aldridge's faint hopes of promotion this season. The game against Tenbury on April 8th will decide the fate of both teams whilst Market Drayton visit Greyhound in a tense end of season decider.
