We continued our league success with this emphatic victory over Ba Ba’s. Seven tries and six conversions made up the tally with no reply from the visitors. Our pack never managed to subdue a stubborn Ba Bas eight –the battle continuing right through to the end - which meant that the ball supply to the backs was irregular for both sides but it was our backs who used that supply to greater effect. The ball was passed through the hands at every opportunity and with plenty of pace available out wide, attacks were set up from all areas of the field which led to some spectacular scores. Three tries in the first half - both full-back Alex Yates and winger Dan McKenna finished off free flowing three-quarter moves into the corner and lock Ashley Shingler, just squeezed inside the flag after capitalizing on a quick throw in. There were four more after the break. A second for McKenna. A solo effort from Adam Reed using his pace to out-distance the defensive cover and a touch down close to the posts for man-of-the-match Mark Smith, playing at flanker. A sprint into the corner by right-winger Jacob Holding finished off the proceedings right at the end. Yates had another prolific afternoon with the boot, converting six out of the seven – ironically the only one he missed was his own.
