Aldridge survive torrid second half to secure win against rivals
Aldridge ran out comfortable winners against Essington who had run us very close at Bourne Vale earlier in the season.
The first half belonged to the visitors who chalked up tries for Ben Pittam, Dan McKenna, Greg Raybould and Darren Gardner with three conversions and a penalty for full back, Alex Yates.
The second half was a complete contrast with indiscipline costing Aldridge dearly. With three players sent to the sin bin we effectively played most of the second half with only 14 players. Inevitably Essington came back into the game and scored two converted tries before the victory was sealed with a converted try by substitute Chris Balmforth.
Ben Pittam's overall play earned him the Man of the Match award.
